We are a grass roots, community group, moved by the plight of people in the middle east who have been displaced by civil war and extremist violence. We have come together to raise awareness of and financial aid for the millions of refugees living in fear and abject poverty in camps, scattered across Syria, Jordan, Iraq, Turkey and Lebanon.
Estimates are that fully 1/2 of those in the camps are children. They need our help.
13.5 million people in Syria need humanitarian assistance.
4.3 million Syrians have fled their homes and are refugees.
6.6 million are displaced within Syria; half are children.
Most Syrian refugees remain in the Middle East, in Turkey, Lebanon, Jordan, Iraq, and Egypt; slightly more than 10 percent of the refugees have escaped to Europe.
In the desert of Northern Jordan there is a camp called Zaatari, a chaotic sprawl of sand-blown tents and trailers crammed with close to 90,000 people.
Established in 2011, it is just one of dozens of camps spread across the middle east.
There is close to ZERO employment for people in the camps.
They are totally dependent on aid from humanitarian groups and foreign governments.
